Monitoring of local elections 2020: TERNOPIL

•    Results of the survey carried out by the Sociological Group Rating on September 24, 2020 among the residents of Ternopil, revealed that Serhiy Nadal (Svoboda) holds the leadership position among the mayoral candidates - 75.6% of those who have decided and intend to vote in the elections are ready to support him. The rating of other candidates is much lower. Thus, 5.4% are ready to vote for Vyktor Ovcharuk (European Solidarity), 5.1% - for Ivan Sorokolyt (Syla Lyudey), 4.6% - Vyktor Hevko (Sluha Narodu), 3.7% - Leonyd Bytsyura (Batkyvshchyna), 3.3% - Iryna Yaremchuk (Ukrainian Galician Party). Ratings of other candidates are below 1%. About 9% of respondents have not decided on the choice.

•    Simulation of the second round of mayoral elections revealed that in case S.Nadal and other potential candidates ran for office, the current mayor would win. Within a pair with I.Sorokolyt with the result 83% against 10%, with V.Ovcharuk - 81% against 11%, with L.Bytsyura - 82% against 9%.

Audience: residents of Ternopil aged 18 and older. The sample is representative in terms of age and gender. Total sample: 1000 respondents. Survey method: CATI (computer-assisted telephone interviews). Based on a random sample of mobile phone numbers. The margin of error does not exceed 3.1%. Period of the survey: 24 September, 2020
