Patriotic moods of the Ukrainians

 • According to the research carried out by the Sociological Group "Rating" in August 2017, 83% of the respondents consider themselves as the patriots of their country. As compared to the same period of 2014, the total number of the patriotic citizens almost has not changed. Only 10% expressed opposite opinion, other 7% – were not able to answer this question.

In all the macro-regions of Ukraine, the number of those who consider themselves as the patriots of Ukraine exceeds 75%: in the West the number of such is 88%, in the Center – 84%, in the East – 83%, and in the South – 77%. At the same time, in the Southern regions, 18% of the polled said they could not think about themselves as the patriots of their country. In the East the number of such respondents is 11%, in the Center – 8%, in the West – 5%. The older the respondents, the higher the number of those who consider themselves as the patriots among them.
 
76% of the polled stated that if they had a choice today, they would support the declaration of Ukraine's Independence. This figure has not changed since 2014. For comparison, in 2013, the number of such was 61%.
 
The highest number of those who support the Declaration of the Independence of Ukraine is recorded in the West (93%). In the Center, 76% of the respondents do support the independence proclamation, in the South – 66%, in the East – 64%. At the same time, in the last two macro-regions, the number of those who state the opposite opinion is 21%-22%. The younger the respondents and the higher the level of their education, the higher the level of their support for the Declaration of Ukraine’s Independence.
 
 
Respondents: residents of Ukraine aged 18 and older. The sample is representative in terms of age, sex, region, and place of residence. Total sample: 2000 respondents. Personal formalized interview (face-to-face). The margin of error does not exceed 2,2%. Period of the survey: 2-13 August 2017
